Conditions of sale when you book by phone

Some guests prefer to book by phone, so please go ahead if you prefer this way.

Confirming your booking

Your booking is only confirmed when you have paid for your stay in full.

Payment can be made using a valid credit or debit card, by cash or by cheque (In the case of payment by cheque, confirmation only occurs when the cheque has cleared and been paid into our account).

When payment has been made, we will send you a confirmation email or letter showing the details of your booking.

Telling us your arrival time

Make sure that you know what our check-in times are and please tell us what time you are planning to arrive. Make sure also that you let us know if your arrival time changes because of a change in your plans or delays. Welcoming and briefing guests up to 7pm each night is something we like doing very much but it needs to be done instantaneously, so we need to plan ahead for each ring on the bell! If you are later than 7pm, then we have a simple system called KeySafe to enable you to get in up to midnight.

Cancelling your booking

We understand that people's plans change and that sometimes a booking may have to be cancelled.

In the event that you have to cancel at any time, you will be charged £5 to cover the costs that we incur processing your booking and then its cancellation (e.g. card transaction costs).

The rest of what you paid will be refunded so long as you cancel your booking before 4pm UK local time 2 days before your date of arrival.

If you cancel your booking after this time or no-show, we will charge a cancellation fee up to the full cost of your booking.

We understand that cancelling may be unavoidable for you and will always try to re-sell the room(s) you have cancelled to recoup revenue. If we are successful the revenue generated will be deducted from your cancellation charge.

Please note that a travel insurance policy can cover you against cancellation charges.

Full payment

Full payment (less any deposit paid) should be made during your stay. Payment can be made using any of the following methods:

  • Valid credit or debit card
  • Cheque drawn on a UK bank and accompanied by a cheque guarantee card that covers the amount you are paying
  • Cash
