Booking and paying for your stay

Booking

If you want to book a room at Rainbow Lodge , you can check availability on the Home Page of our website and call us, or send us an email using the Booking page.

Your booking is only confirmed once you have paid a deposit for your first night (we may ask for more if you are staying with us for a long time).

You can do this by:

  • Phone using a valid credit or debit card*
  • Banker’s cheque or postal order
  • Cash in person
  • Personal cheque (booking confirmed only when the cheque has cleared in the hotel’s bank account)

Once you have paid a deposit, we will send you a Booking Confirmation by mail or email confirming your booking and showing the total cost of your stay, the deposit already paid and the balance outstanding.

* Visa or MasterCard Credit Cards and major debit cards can all be accepted.

When you arrive

Check in time

You can check in at Rainbow Lodge anytime between 2pm and 6pm on your day of arrival. Earlier or later check in times must be requested in advance.

Registration

Every guest must complete and sign a Registration Form. This is because:

  • Details of all parties staying at the hotel are needed for reasons of safety
  • Signing the form means that you agree to the simple rules of conduct below (also written on the back of the form)

If you book in advance your Registration Form will be filled in by us automatically, so all you have to do is sign it when you arrive.

Visitors are welcome during your stay but they must enter their name and other details in the Visitors Book and must not stay overnight.

 Car Parking

There is a SMALL car park at the rear of the hotel and with excellent driver skills it will hold several visitors’ cars! If you want a space in the car park, you must request this at the time of booking.

As an alternative, you can park free on street between 6pm in the evening and 10am the next day, and we can provide you with a pass for on street parking at all other times of each day for £2.

During your stay

Always carry your hotel keys with you

Every guest is given a set of keys that include a roomkey and a key that opens both front doors of the hotel.

Always keep these keys with you. In particular, make sure to take them with you if you are going out in the evening as we switch the doorbell off every night. This is to ensure that our guests have an undisturbed sleep.

Full payment

Full payment for your stay (less any deposit paid) is due during your stay. Payment can be made using any of the following methods:

  • Valid credit or debit card
  • Cheque drawn on a UK bank and accompanied by a cheque guarantee card
  • Cash

Local information

Please ask us for any information that you would particularly like during your stay. We have leaflets, magazines, maps and books and can of course access online and offline information channels to find what you want.

Your conduct

Please don’t smoke

All our guestrooms and public rooms are strictly NO SMOKING Our bedrooms and public rooms are strictly non-smoking.

Loss or damage

When you book with us, you accept responsibility for any damage or loss caused by you or any member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or loss must be paid at the time incurred.

Care for others

We expect all guests to have consideration for other people. If in our reasonable opinion you or any member of your party behaves in such a way as to cause or be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or damage to property, we are entitled, without prior notice, to ask you to leave immediately.

Remember also that the Law applies as much inside the hotel as it does outside.

Check out time

Normal check out time is before 10am on your day of departure.

Cancellation of your booking

We understand that people’s plans change and that a booking may have to be cancelled. In such cases, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee up to the full cost of the booking if:

  • A booking for only one room is cancelled less than 48 hours before the day of arrival.
  • A booking for two or more rooms is cancelled less than 96 hours before the day of arrival.

W e try to be as flexible as possible and we will only charge a cancellation fee in cases where we genuinely believe that the cancellation has cost us money.

Please note that a travel insurance policy can cover you against cancellation charges.
